Abrasive powder is known in various industries under names: kupershlak, nikelshlak, mineral fraction, shlifzerno, etc.
Abrasive powder is intended for jet cleaning of the following surfaces:
metal — removal of old coverings, scales, rusts, preparation of a surface before drawing a sheeting;
brick, concrete, stone — removal of the destroyed and defrozen sites at repair, and also before coloring, grinding of floors.
Processing of surfaces abrasive powder is carried out by a sanding, hydroabrasive or ardent and abrasive method.
According to the required technology of drawing sheetings of foreign producers, and also some Russian producers preparation of a surface has to be carried out by an abrasive and jet method with use of abrasive powder. By preparation of a surface abrasive powder a number of producers give a guarantee for the coverings up to 10 years, and on some coverings up to 20 years.
The consumption of abrasive powder in comparison with quartz sand is 3-4 times less, and productivity 3-4 times higher. When using abrasive powder time of performance of anticorrosive works is considerably reduced, therefore, besides economy of abrasive material also labor costs are reduced.
At blow of particles of quartz sand about the processed surface a large amount of fine dust with a diameter of 15-30 microns which except pollution of a working zone is hammered between peaks of the processed surface covered for 70-85% with particles of quartz sand is formed. Removal of these particles requires carrying out labor-consuming operations on dust removal (washing off by water with high pressure) which attract expenses of money and time. Lack of such operations leads to formation of intervals between a covering and the processed surface owing to what metal begins to rust, and in 2-3 years there is a peeling of an anticorrosive covering. Use of abrasive powder removes this problem as the structure of grains and their diameter after blow interfere with formation of dust on the processed surface. By the carried-out tests it is proved that after sandblast cleaning of a surface abrasive powder the surface is covered with small particles of abrasive powder for 15-20%, and these particles completely are removed brushes or obduvy surfaces.
Abrasive powder is packed into soft containers μR 1 (big-beg) with a capacity of 1 ton with polyethylene inserts. Water-proof packing, provides a possibility of storage of an abrasive on the open area including at adverse weather conditions (a rain, snow) without change of properties.
