Glass use as constructional element won the increasing popularity for the last decade that first of all is explained by application of more and more developed methods of dot fastening (a spider of systems) in a glazing. Broad operation a spider of systems became possible thanks to research of properties of glass as constructional material and development of the methods of the analysis based on computer modeling. Our instinctive fear of fragility of glass is gradually forced out by understanding of its high potential as construction material.
Spyder system for the first time appeared in the early eighties.
The development of ways of compound of glass executed within this project was based on the fullest use of potential of glass as constructional material, at the same time the special attention was paid to protection of glass as extremely fragile material.
When using the spider of systems of a planar glazing a facade has no frames and central parts, and the general architecture generally is defined now by geometrical structure and constructional characteristics of wind-resistance, and also actually system of fastening of glasses. Symbiosis of two of these parts of a facade has crucial importance when developing architectural composition of the building.
After the decision on use of system of cables for protection of glass against wind loadings was made, efforts on development of hinged bolts were made. At design of this design nonlinear methods of computer modeling which allowed to prove suitability of this design differing in extremely small weight as a basic element for glass fastening were used. The system of cables was designed with use only of the stretching elements, near a surface of glass compression or a bend were completely excluded that provided the high durability of the building. The farm deviates under the influence of loading, cables adapt to its change, at the same time the new hinged bolt provides movement of the glass panel - thanks to it loading is distributed on a farm and does not mention actually glass.
